Hi, everyone. Aiden here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at and later be showing you how to install this CURT 4-pole Wiring Harness on our 2014 BMW 3 Series. This is a universal kit, which I would normally stray away from just because they can be more involved and it's designed to work on really any vehicle. But in the case of this 3 Series here today, the installation was surprisingly smooth because the battery's in the back of the vehicle, you don't have to run much wiring and everything's very accessible for a clean install. So that's a big benefit. more

Hey, everyone, Shane here with etrailer.com. Today, I have a 2015 BMW X5. I'm gonna walk you through how to install the Curt powered taillight converter kit. This is gonna give you your four-pole connection so that if you're pulling a small trailer that doesn't have brakes on it, it's gonna give you all your proper lighting functions so you're legal and safe, brake signals, turn signals, and running lights. It's gonna have a nice dust cap, so when you're not using it, you can put the dust cap on over the connections and it keeps them from getting clogged up or corroded. This is designed to live inside of the vehicle. more

And this is what our wiring looks like when it's installed. That's right, you can't see it at all because this wiring is designed to stay inside of our vehicle. And I personally like the ones that stay inside better, even though it might seem like it's slightly more inconvenient. But it's protected from the elements, and these are gonna last way longer than any outside mounted connector. more

So, you might be wondering, "Why do I have to have trailer wiring if I'm going to be towing a trailer" It's so that we can keep everybody safe on the roadway, so they can see our running lights, tail lights, brake lights and turn signals. Our kit is going to work with two wire, three wire and pulse modulation wiring systems. This does connect right to your vehicle's factory wiring and to your vehicle's battery. One really nice feature about our BMW in particular, inaudible 00:00:34 we're not using our four-pole, it does fit right in this compartment here. more

Shane: Hey guys, Shane here with entrailer.com. Today, I have a 2018 BMW X5, and I want to walk you through how to install the Curt Powered Tail Light Converter Kit. This is going to give you your four pole connection, so you had all your proper lighting functions to, whether it's a trailer, whether you have a cargo carrier that where you had to move your license plate out to the back of it, and you need that license plate light, or even blinkers on those cargo carriers.Four pole connection is going to give you all those proper lighting functions. It's going to connect the factory wiring behind each tail light. Typically, this wiring harness is designed to be able to live inside the vehicle, and it would just run it right out the bottom side of the bumper here, when you're ready to hook it up. In our case here, our customer wanted it mounted outside the vehicle, which can be a little bit time consuming, but it can be done.You're going to have 4.2 amps per circuit for your stop and turn signals, 7.5 amps per circuit for your tail lights. more

Adding wiring to your vehicles is going to allow you to get light signals transferred back to either your boat trailer, maybe you have a flatbed trailer or something like that you're pulling, that is requiring lighting functions. This is going to allow you to get those functions to transfer back to your trailers so that you're not only legal, but you're safe and everybody around you knows what you're doing. Maybe you have a cargo carrier and loading up that cargo carrier, maybe putting a little bit of coverage on your tail lights. Having a four-pole plug is going to allow you to run lights to that cargo carrier. more

Now our Tekonsha wiring is going to give us a four-pole flat trailer connector so we have all the required lights to safely and legally get down the road, like our taillights, our turn signals and our brake lights. One of my personal favorite things about the ZCI wiring, as well as a lot of other customers, is that to get this installed, there's absolutely no cutting of wires involved at all. Today on our 2012 BMW we're going to be taking a look at, and showing you how to install the ZCI Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector.All right, now this is what it's going to look like once it's installed. As you can see there's plenty of length on the cable that way we'll have no problem hooking up to any hitch mounted accessory or trailer we might be using. Now, this is going to give us all the proper lighting functions to keep us legal including our brakes, running lights, and turn signals.What sets this kit apart from any of the others, see, you don't actually have to splice into any of your vehicles wiring, which is always a plus. It simply just uses these clips that pick up your electrical signal that way. It's all pretty much plug and play, as I said earlier, you don't have to worry about cutting into anything. Today on our 2010 BMW X3, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Curt Power Tail Light Converter with a four pull flat trailer connector.So here's what our wiring's gonna look like once we have it installed. It is designed to stay in the inside of the vehicle until we're ready to use it. It is gonna provide us the four pull flat trailer connectors, so we have all the required lights to get down the road safely. So whenever we're not using it, we can store our wire in the back hatch area here over by the driver's side. Just bundle it up, it'll store neatly right into this cargo net. The only one thing to keep in mind is when you do go to use it, you can drop it just about anywhere out of the hatch, so long as you stay away from the latch mechanism itself. more

Today on our 2018 BMW 3 series, we're going to be taking a look at, and showing you how to install the Tekonsha ZCI circuit protected vehicle wiring harness with four pole flat trailer connector, part number 119250KIT. It's going to provide us with a four pole flat trailer connector, and it's gonna give us all the required lights to get down the road safely, like our brake lights, running lights, and our turn signals. It's gonna have a dust cap to keep all the dirt and debris out of our connector, and we can use it to hang our excess wire real close to our hitch, so it'll be ready for us whenever we want to tow.The really nice thing about our wiring is the fact that the ZCI is gonna stand for zero contact interface. So, we're not gonna have to cut, splice, or do anything to our factory wires except simply put a clamp around it. Those clamps are gonna detect that signal, go through a converter box, and send it out to our connector. That's gonna reduce the strain on our vehicle's tail lights and turn signals because it's not tapping directly into it and it's gonna prevent us from having to cut into the wire and voiding any kind of warranties. more

Today on our 2016 BMW X1, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Concha T1 vehicle wiring harness with four pole flat trailer connector. Part number 118717. This is what our wiring looks like when it's installed. This is going to give us a proper lighting function to safely tow our trailer. It's going to give us both turn signals, our running lights, brake lights and our ground. It's going to provide us with 4.2 amps per circuit for stop and turn signals, 7.5 amps per circuit for our tail lights. more

First off, how to store it when you're not using it. It's gonna live right here, underneath the floor panel. When it's kept inside, you don't have to worry about it staying outside all the time, and the electrical connections being exposed to elements. If you rarely use it, this is best way to go about it.So when you do need to use it, open it up, pull out your wire, and then shut the hatch on it. Just stay away from the center of the latch, here, so you don't destroy the wires. more

You want to make sure when you run your wire out, you stay away from any of these connection points. These wires are made to go in between your hatches and to close in between your doors. Speaker 1: Today on our 2010 BMW 5 Series Wagon we're gonna be taking a look at and installing the Tekonsha ZCI Circuit-Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness, part number 119250KIT.So, here's what our wiring's gonna look like when it's fully installed. It is gonna stay inside the vehicle at all times, and when we're ready to tow, we can just drop it down the hatch, close the hatch and it'll be right here whenever we're ready to hook up our trailer. Now, it's gonna give us a four-pole flat for our trailer, which is gonna have all the required lights when we're driving down the road, such as our taillights, turn signals, and brakes.Now, what's great about this wiring is is we're not gonna have to cut in or even plug into our factory wiring. Our connectors are gonna wrap around our wire, and there's a sensor inside that's gonna detect the current. So we're not gonna overload, or even put any kind of draw onto our factory wiring. Now, it is gonna come with a circuit-protected power module, and that's gonna ensure that any feedback from the trailer that might happen won't come back into our vehicle. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2015 BMW X5- Video
Narrator: Today our 2015 BMW X5 will be having a look at and installing the Tekonsha ZCI Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness, part number 119250KIT. Now, what I really like about this wiring harness compared to others on the market, is the fact that when we install it, we don't have to worry about cutting or splicing into any of the wiring on our vehicle at all. Plus, another thing I really like about this wiring harness, if I we're to get another vehicle further on down the road, I don't have to worry about buying another wiring harness. I could easily remove this from my vehicle and install it into a new one because there is no cutting or splicing, and it's not vehicle specific. It works with any vehicle out there. This is a zero contact interface. All you have to do is fold these connectors here over the wires that has your signal that you're using. In this case, this is a tail light wire that we're using. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2011 BMW X3- Video
Today on our 2011 BMW X-3, we're going to be taking a look at and installing the Curt Powered Tail Light Converter with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector, part number C59236. Here's what it's going to look like once it's installed on the vehicle. This is the dust cap that comes with it. It's just tied to our safety chain connection loop right there. You can also get brackets if you want to mount it outside the vehicle where it's a little bit easier and more permanently mounted, but this is going to do a great job of giving us 4-pole power here for a trailer or a cargo carrier. This kit is going to tap directly into the lines, so you'll have to splice it into the lines and you will have to identify what type of wiring system your car has on it for the lighting, but the instructions will help you do that. This comes with a heavy duty converter box that's going to make sure that you've got plenty of power and it's going to go directly to the battery with a power wire, so that it pulls 12 volts directly from there. more

Today in our 2013 BMW X5 we'll be installing the ZCI Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness for a 4-pole flat trailer connector. Part #119250KIT. When it comes time to hook up to our trailer, all you have to do, pull out our panel here, grab our trailer wiring, we'll hang it down here out of the way of our hatch. You can close your panel back up here. We'll close our hatch. Just like that we can hook up our trailer and have all functioning lights on it so we can safely tow. Here's what our kit consists of.
